WindRose PRO directly reads the
AERMOD surface meteorological file.
AERMOD is an atmospheric dispersion model belonging to the Preferred/Recommended list of the US-EPA. The user may select the directional variable to analyse, wind speed by default, but also ambient temperature, friction velocity, mixing height and others. Dates and times are stored together the selected variables, therefore it is possible to filter data according to years, months, days of the week, hours or day/night hours.
AERMOD surface meteorological files must have SFC extension.

An example of AERMOD surface meteorological input file is contained under the directory Sample of the installation path, and is called aermod_sample.sfc. Other examples can be found in the US-EPA web site.
After loading the data, the total number of data and the total number of valid data, together with the percentage, appear in the lower right corner of the main mask. The number of valid data is determined using the
filtering options specified by the user.
